the lovewell partners
Carlie Pitka

Born and raised in Sarnia, ON, Carlie has always had a special interest in pregnancy, birth, and newborns. She graduated from Lambton College's two-year Advanced Massage Therapy Program in class of 2011. Having the opportunity to attend a cousin's birth, her massage skills came in handy. She started putting more effort into promoting prenatal and labour massage, and after a couple birth experiences she quickly realized this was her "sweet spot."
Carlie discovered becoming a Doula was the perfect fit; her doula journey began early 2015. She is a Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula through Doula Training Canada. With further research and experience, Carlie also specializes in latching and positioning for Breastfeeding and offers Breastfeeding Support services within her scope as a Doula.
Aside from her partnership at Lovewell, and her Doula and RMT work, Carlie is a mother of 4. She loves the outdoors, sports, boardgames, and ice cream!
Stephany Perez
Throughout her own journey as a young mom, she felt the impact and importance of building a village to lean on. From there, Stephany discovered that she wanted nothing more than to be that exact vessel of support for pregnant, labouring and postpartum individuals in her community. She came together with the Lovewell partners to create a safe space where expectant folks and parents would feel cared for, supported and respected - all under one roof.
Aside from her partnership at Lovewell and her work as social media manager, Stephany can be found gently parenting her two little girls and indulging in vegan food.

Nicole Newman

As a curious and sensitive person, Nicole always felt at home in the birthing world. After her beginnings as a birthworker in 2013, there wasn't much that could tame her desire to support pregnant folks in different and dynamic ways- to acknowledge the beauty in their strengths and softness, and to empower them as they start their transformations into one of the most important roles of their lives. Each and every birth, every pregnancy and baby moment, experiencing the value of connection, has been one joy after another. In addition to birth work, Nicole shares her energy and passion volunteering with local organizations, boards, and committees such as the C.E.E.H Auxiliary, SASCSL, and the Petrolia Community Refrigerator.
Outside of her Lovewell partnership and community endeavors, Nicole is usually inside - resting her eyes at home, sipping tea and writing, and thoroughly enjoying her life with her better half and 2 radical kidlets. She also tries to not make a habit out of referring to herself in the third person.
